Compound for repairing materials
WEICON Plastic Metal is an ideal compound for the most cost-effective durable repair of a wide variety of materials. It is also suitable for mould and tool construction. The range includes 18 different types (see menu on the left) to meet the many requirements of work in industry. The system is completed by various accessory products.

Plastic metal: characteristics
After mixing the two components, WEICON Plastic Metal hardens at room temperature and becomes metal-like, adhering to almost all types of surfaces. The curing time depends on the type. Unlike polyester resin, the material has no shrinkage while it hardens. The hardened material can be machined, i.e:
- perforated
- milled
- corrected
- filed.
WEICON offers a very high range of pasty, liquid or brushable types with high temperature and abrasion resistance. All types also have excellent resistance to aggressive agents.
Plastic Metal: Applications
Many different materials can be durably bonded to themselves and to each other, such as:
- iron, steel, bronze
- aluminium, brass and copper
- glass and ceramics, concrete and wood
- many rigid plastics (excluding PTFE, polyethylene and polypropylene).
In industrial workshops and maintenance departments, WEICON Plastic Metal is the ideal product for:
- repairing aluminium and light alloy parts
- repair castings, pipes and tanks
- filling blowholes and microporosities
- reconditioning worn shafts, slideways, pumps and casings
- welding without preheating (when welding is problematic or impossible).
WEICON Plastic Metal is used in production to make moulds and models, in particular
- moulds for rubber and injection parts
- construction of matrices
- templates and models for pre-production tests
- coating of cutting tool guides
- construction of fastening systems.
WEICON Plastic Metal is ideal for general maintenance work and permanent repairs instead of expensive spare parts.

Plastic Metal: Polymerisation and Treatment
Depending on the type, WEICON Plastic Metals can be machined or removed from the mould after 2 hours up to a maximum of 24 hours at room temperature.
Final polymerisation is reached for all types after 48 hours at room temperature.*
In cold environments, curing can be accelerated with heat, max. 40°C (lamps, electric blankets, hot fan). Do not use an open flame (gas burners or oil lamps) to avoid overheating and possible deformation.
